How GST calculation works
Adding GST to a price
GST Amount = Base Price × GST Rate ÷ 100
GST-Inclusive Price = Base Price + GST Amount
Example: If the base price is ₹1,000 and GST is 18%, GST is ₹180 and the final price is ₹1,180.
Removing GST from a GST-inclusive price
Base Price = GST-Inclusive Price ÷ (1 + GST Rate ÷ 100)
GST Amount = GST-Inclusive Price − Base Price
Example: If the GST-inclusive price is ₹1,180 at 18% GST, the base price is ₹1,000 and the GST component is ₹180.
